Handmade for the Professional Kitchen.

Dear friends and supporters:

Hurricane Helene came to the mountains of western North Carolina at the end of September and devastated our region. Entire communities swept away in landslides, surviving communities cut off behind lost roads, downed trees, sinkholes, and our water and power infrastructure gravely fractured. Water and power are still being restored, and many businesses (most small like us) are unable to operate. All of us who work at Crazy Green Studios are safe, which is most important. While I am deeply grateful to have my home in tact and was only without utilities for two weeks, both my studio at The Village Potters Clay Center and my beloved production studio for Crazy Green Studios have been completely demolished. READ MORE AT HOME PAGE

I love food, and I love to cook - it's what first attracted me to making pottery. I make pottery for the foods I love, and share homemade meals on handmade wares with friends and family.  Even better, I love to see my pottery in the hands of passionate, creative, and skilled food professionals. My work is handmade with high fire stoneware or porcelain and food-safe glazes. Pieces are made to be used, and just about any piece is dishwasher safe (even commercial dishwashers).  Orders may be customized in form, glaze, and/or branding. Thanks for looking, and please contact me with questions. - Lori Theriault

Why Handmade?
You take the time and attention to carefully source or even grow your ingredients.  You know your farmers and growers. You pride yourself in creating exquisite meals that are part of a complete experience. You invite patrons into 'your house', and you oversee every detail. Your work deserves a worthy canvas, and handmade ceramic service ware, organic and unique, adds immense value to the complete dining experience.

For the Home Kitchen

A downside to becoming a busier production studio is that I don't have the luxury of accepting as many dinnerware commissions, but when I do they are a joy for me. The place settings are designed with the client to determine the forms and the design of the glaze decoration, and each piece is handmade and glazed with intention and consideration that they will become a part of someone's daily routines, special occasions, and handmade meals.

My serviceware and accessories for the home kitchen may be found in the gallery at The Village Potters Clay Center in Asheville, NC., and I try to keep a good stock of basic service items for your selection. I am only able to take a handful of dinnerware commissions per year, so if you're interested, don't hesitate to contact me ! And while you're here, check out my new Flameware Comals!!
