This is a very limited edition glaze as I'm not sure I'll have the same effects again! Many things go into a glaze result, and when you work with a kiln over time, you grow to expect certain results. I am so grateful to have access to a reduction kiln to fire my salvaged and new work, but it is a new kiln to me, and as such, the first few firings will give me information that I can use to grow those expectations. It's rather exciting to feel like everything coming out of the kiln will be new and unique to what I normally expect, and over time I will make adjustments to both glaze application and firing technique to achieve consistent results.
The results of this firing gave a range in my Crazy Green glaze from the olive green here to an oxidized copper black. The blush of purple at the base of the neck is where the Crazy Green glaze overlaps with the white salt glaze that is inside and on the neck.
